The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) has initiated preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to analyze the potential environmental consequences of the Ho-Chunk Nation’s (Nation) application for a 33-acre fee-to-trust transfer and casino project. The project site is located in the City of Beloit, Rock County, Wisconsin immediately west of Interstate 90/39. The proposed project may include, but is not limited to, development of a casino, hotel, parking, and other associated facilities within the project site. The proposed project would also include local transportation system and infrastructure improvements necessary to provide access to the proposed development. For the purpose of this EIS, the BIA is serving as the Lead Agency for compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
